WHAT'S YOUR TOP 12 ALBUMS OF 2012????
Posted: Mon Jan 07, 2013 11:14 am
So much good shit dropped last year..it's kinda hard to narrow the list down too only 12 albums, but here you niggas go.
12. Cop Heavy Gang 2 - Ampichino & Young Bossi
With features from Jacka, Joe Blow, Yukmouth, Boy Big, Rush Borda, Shoboat, J.Stalin and more..this album is a must-have if you consider yaself a fan of Ampichino, Young Bossi or any of the niggas from Akron that be spittin that Mob shit. It's on the same level as the first Cop Heavy Gang and the production on here is filled with hard-hittin beats and dope ass samples, and Amp & Bossi trade bars with some of the hardest niggas in the game right now.
Standout Tracks: No One, Deep In Tha Game, When We Clash, Life So Epic, Childish Things, My First Love,

11. M.O.B. (My Other Brother) - Joe Blow
With features from Cellski, Rich The Factor, Rydah J. Klyde, Husalah, Jacka, Stevie Joe and way more..this is Joe Blow's 7th solo project and it's by far his best. The production on this album is a mix between laid-back beats and tracks with hard ass bass-lines that's reminiscent of some shit from the 90's..if you new too Blow's music, this would be the perfect album to introduce yaself to his shit (and of course his first album You Should Be Payin Me )
Standout Tracks: Threw The Nite, Time Aint Money, Funky Mouth Hoe, Straight Mobbin, Appeal

10. Lil Stu & Lil Levi - Real Recognize Real
With features from Ampichino, Gap, Lox, Freeze, F.A., Lil Rue and more..this is one of the most slept-on albums of 2012. Stu & Levi are 2 young niggas residing from KC that spit about they day-to-day life and the fucked up shit that they deal with..make sure you peep this album out :D
RIP Lil Levi
Standout Tracks: Am I Dreaming, Tight Rope (Remix), Way I Live, We Here, Heart of Mine

9. Young Bossi - The Town
This is Bossi's 3rd solo album, and It's his best one by far..it took a while too grow on me, but after multiple listens, I fell in love with this album (No Homo)..with features from Ampichino, Boy Big, J.Stalin, The Jacka and a handful of other niggas..Bossi manages to hold his own and does it all with dope ass production to accompany his lyrics..out of 18 tracks (17 if you dont wanna include the minute-long intro), there's a good 12-13 tracks on here that are impossible not to nod ya damn head too..not too mention Bossi got one of the best Ad-Libs right now in the game. FUCKS UP!!!! *in my Young Bossi voice*
Standout Tracks: No Other Option, Showtime, Mind of A Killa, Chances

8. Boy Big - Panties & Blunts
I was once told that Boy Big can be considered the KC version of Matt Blaque, but that's neither here nore there my nigga. This album has features from Joe Blow, Philthy Rich, Rydah J. Klyde, Ampichino, Rappin Twan and a few other cats..but this is some real laid-back shit since Boy Big is a harmonizer..majority of the production on this album is live-production and is composed of real instruments and wutnot..this is something you can definitely play when you get some bitches around or sumthin of that nature..
Standout Tracks: Jello, Smoke A Blunt, I Got That

7. Innerstate Ike - Mail On Sunday
Innerstate Ike released this for free on the net, but the shit is definitely album quality. From spitting about his mama having blood-clots in her lung, how much he miss his nigga Cac or how his auntie used too hit that pipe..Ike spit some real shit throughout the 19 tracks. Features from Analiza Slim, Young Doe and Hawkman..this would be a good introduction to Denver rap if you ain't already up on Elite ENT and the moves that they making in this music shit..
Standout Tracks: Mail On Sunday, Rain Drops, My Own Best Friend, Prayed Up

6. Rondoe - 2thou12: The Street Album
With features from Joe Blow, Ron Ron, Key Loom, Innerstate Ike, I-Rocc, Homewrecka and a handful of other niggas..2thou12 is a pretty solid album..it's not RD's best work, however, I give him credit for trying to branch out and work with other artists and introducing his self to other niggas fan-bases. While this album is pretty good, it definitely ain't no "Still Trippin Off Old Shit or "Authentic"..regardless of what the fuck I think, this is definitely worth a listen bruh..
Standout Tracks: Like Me, My Life, Ray Allen, Sunshine, Hands Down

5. Joe Blow & Young Bossi - FishScale Blow
When Oakland and Akron collide, FishScale Blow is what you get..and what more could a nigga ask for??? Blow and Bossi have perfect chemistry on this album and the production is simply amazing on this muthafucka..with features from Chino Nino, Ampichino, Lil Rue, The Jacka and plenty other niggas..it's alot of replay value in this one
Standout Tracks: Family, Hillary Banks, Keep Prayin, I'm Sorry, What's Love

4. HD - Breaking N Entering
I just got put up on HD in 2012, and this was the first full-length album of HD that I took time out too listen to. That being said, I wasn't dissapointed at all because the clever shit that HD manages to come up with never ceases to amaze me..lots of dope production on this and HD and his Ice City LaFamilia come hard on they verses..SMACK SMACK!!!!
Standout Tracks: 4 Da Love, Men, I Represent The Struggle

3. Flip Flip - Most Wanted
Flip Flip (he's also Rondoe's little brother) had a real solid album that dropped last year, and it has one of the craziest intro's I've heard in quite some time..simply listening to the 1st track gets you Amped too hear what else the rest of the album has in store..there's not too many features on this one, but that's not really a problem seeing as how he can hold his own on majority of the tracks..if you're a fan of Rondoe, and even if you ain't one, you should def peep "Most Wanted"..
Standout Tracks: In Motion, All We Do, Keep It Dum Lit, They Aint Nothing Like Me, I Speak Real

2. Young Fate - Paystyle Flow (Vol. 1)
Young Fate is a rapper from Kansas City that put out his 3rd project in 2012 (his first project is Cracc Raps and second is I Got The Juice Now). It's hosted by Ron Ron and has no features which allows you to really get familiar with Fate's rapping style without gettin overshadowed by tons of features and shit..he typically raps about hangin on the block, clappin the ham sammich on suckas, his loyalty to his turf and his dead/locked up homies..none of that fabricated shit, and what more can you ask for from a artist you ungrateful muthafuckas?!?!?!
Standout Tracks: Wally World. Shit'D On Em, Friends, From The F.O.G., C Me At The Top, Tears Drop

1. Rich The Factor - 10th Wonder Of The World
My list wouldn't be complete without some Rich The Factor...10th Wonder of The World (which is a play on his hood 10th street..pretty clever Mr. Factor..pretty clever )..but all bullshit aside, you get 10 tracks of straight heat, as with most of his projects. That being said, Rich feels right at home over this smooth-ass production..and drops alotta clever lines that goes over most niggas heads..dont sleep on this album nigga
